According to China’s population data for the past ten years, the birth population were around 16 million people from 2003 to 2013. Only when in 2016, the birth population increased to 17.86 million people as the government introduced the “Two-Child Policy”.

縱觀中國近十年的人口數據，2003年至2013年的出生人口徘徊在1,600萬人水平。除2016年推出「全面二孩」政策，帶動出生人口升至1,786萬人，之後連年卻無以為繼，至去年更跌至1,003萬人。

財政司司長於2021年的財政預算案中提及，增加汽車的首次登記稅及牌照費，目的是為了改善私家車數量持續增加引致交通擠塞日益嚴重的問題。
